BHARATANATYAM dancers Shrishti will put South Asian dance on the map when they perform in front of thousands at the Royal Albert Hall on November 13.

CONGRATULATIONS to Imperial College London who have officially won the 2010 title of the number one bhangra team in the UK. The team stole the title from Queen Mary’s university who dropped to second place this year, while Brunel University came in third.

Sattriya Dance
An experimental solo dance and speech production examining the historical and contemporary identity of Sattriya dance against the background of political insurgency, nationalisms and religion in Assam. Using maps, textiles, images and music, critically acclaimed dancer-choreographer Menaka PP Bora will perform the story of Sattriya dance and Assamese culture.
Sattriya dance is a 15th century devotional dance evolved by Sri Sankardev in Assam. India born Menaka PP Bora is an award winning international independent artiste and Lecturer in Dance at Kingston University, London.
