Hard Kaur’s first stint at acting and TV presenting!
FIRST she was spitting lyrics then she was busting dance moves and now she is making the transition to presenting and acting. Is there anything that Hard Kaur can’t do?
Prepare to see the softer side to the fiery and feisty rapper who is set to make her Bollywood acting debut this year in Nikhil Advani’s fortcoming film, ‘Patiala House.’
“In ‘Patiala House’ I play the role of Akshay kumar’s cousin,” she said. “I first met him for ‘Hello India’ in UK for which I recorded a song. He is very naughty and cracked lot of jokes when we were shooting.”
“Rishi Kapoor plays my Bauji and Akshay’s father. He is an amazing actor and even at this age he is very professional. My character is very different from the real me. She is a very simple girl,” she added.
The star cast also includes Anushka Sharma, Rishi Kapoor and Dimple Kapadia. The film, which is due to be released in November this year, centres on the father-son relationship of a Punjabi family living in Southall.
Hard Kaur has also been brushing up on her Hindi skills for her first stint as a TV anchor in India. She is currently hosting a brand new music reality show, ‘IPL Rock star, Music Ka Tadka’ which is judged by the Indian pop singer Kailash Kher and the internationally renowned singer – Sukhwinder Singh.
“I was never interested in doing things like eating insects or staying hungry to entertain people. But I love dancing, singing or performing comedy,” she said.
“I had told Colors that I wanted to be an anchor and for so long they had been looking for the right assignment for me. Though I have done some anchoring for BBC, I need to be really careful about my Hindi when I do it here in India.”
“I’m neither camera shy nor am I people shy. For the stadium and TV audience, it is going to be double mazaa.”
So, acting in a Bollywood film and TV presenting from the IPL – it looks like Hard Kaur’s decision to pack it in and move to Mumbai is paying off!
IPL Rockstar will be broadcast every Saturday-Sunday at 7pm only on ‘Colors’.
